India Vs SA – Final – T20 World Cup Cricket 2024
Team India after unbeaten in this T20 World Cup Cricket 2024 stormed into Finals and set to play South Africa (Ind Vs SA) after 10 years. Earlier India Won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 and reached Final in the year 2014. India won the ODI world cup in 2011, now after 13 years another opportunity for Team India to lift the world cup.
India Innings
After winning the Toss, England chose to field first. Team India started the batting fluently but Loss Virat Kohli early, he was bowled for only 9 runs. However Rohit Sharma continued the same form and hit another 50 (Total 57 in 39 balls) and played match winning partnership with Surya Kumar Yadav who scored brisk 47 runs in 36 balls.
Chris Jordan dismissed Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube in consecutive balls after Hardik had struck two flat sixes in 23 from 12 balls, while Ravindra Jadeja added 17 from only 9 balls. Chris Jordan (3-37), Livingstone (0-24) and Rashid (1-25) were the pick of the bowlers.

England Innings
Set a target of 172 on a difficult pitch but England only managed to score 103 in 16.4 overs before being dismissed.
On a slow pitch where the ball seldom kept low, Axar Patel introduced in 4th over took the 1st wicket for India by dismissing Jos Buttler. Axar, bowled Jonny Bairstow while he was playing a wild drive, taking 3-23. Moeen was comically dismissed when he was hit on the pad, unaware of where the ball had gone, and was stumped.
Later, they named Axar Patel the Player of the Match for his dominant bowling in the powerplay.
Axar Alias ‘Bapu’
Indian cricket fans showered immense praise on Patel via social media posts. They referred to Mahatma Gandhi, who dedicated his life to freeing India from British rule. Axar also has a nickname “Bapu” like Gandhiji.
On a hilarious post one Indian fan react on social media “Bapu getting Englishmen out since 1947” – to celebrate the win and praise Axar for his tremendous match winning bowling performance.
Superb Indian left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav (3-19) trapped both Sam Curran and Jordan and clean bowled Harry Brook (25) to put India in-charge. Axar will be great threat in the finals (Ind vs. SA) and wonderful to watch his bowling.
After match reactions
“It’s very satisfying to win this game. We worked really hard as a unit. To win like that was a great effort from everybody” after the match India captain Rohit Sharma said. “We adapted to the conditions. They were really challenging. If we play according to the conditions, things fall into place.”
England captain Jos Buttler: “India outplayed us. We let them maybe get 20-25 too many on a challenging surface that they played well on. They fully deserved to win.
“We played good cricket in patches but unfortunately came up short when we needed it most.”
Player of the match, India bowler Axar Patel: “I knew that the wicket was stopping and had something for the bowlers. I just tried to bowl in good areas”
Ind Vs SA the Finals
India will play with South Africa (Ind vs SA) in June 29 in Barbados. Dominant South Africa won against Afghanistan by 9 wickets after bowling out Afghanistan on just 56 runs in 11.5 overs.
Both India and South Africa have remained unbeaten in the tournament, and both teams have topped their respective groups in the group stage and the Super Eight.
