Manu Bhaker Won Bronze Medal at Paris Olympics

Manu Bhaker made history at the Paris Olympics by securing India’s first shooting medal after a 12-year wait. A reunion with her former coach Jaspal Rana reignited her passion. Leading to her remarkable success in Paris. She won India’s first medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics. A bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event on Sunday, 28th July 2024.

Manu Bhaker, born in Goria village, “Haryana”, showed early sporting talent in martial arts, boxing, tennis, and skating. Her father name is  Ram Kishan Bhaker is a chief engineer in the Merchant Navy. India’s 1st Medal at Paris Olympic wins heart of all Indians and she made her state very proud.

Sporting Career (Shooting)

The 22-year-old’s Olympic journey was filled with highs and lows. Following her return from the Tokyo Games without a medal, Bhaker faced a period of disillusionment with shooting, likening it to a mundane 9 to 5 job. The lack of excitement and joy in her routine prompted her to consider pursuing higher education abroad instead.

However, Bhaker’s determination and the desire to rediscover her passion for shooting led her to reconnect with coach Jaspal Rana after a public fallout. Their reunion marked a turning point as the duo buried their differences and worked towards a common goal of success at the Paris Olympics.
